The fiscal management of the school board affects all Wake County citizens. More than half of Wake County’s budget goes towards the public school system. Furthermore, half of the state budget contributes to public school systems statewide. This creates a multi-BILLION-dollar budget to be managed by the WCPSS board. But the board has chosen to approve exorbitantly high salaries/benefits for the superintendent and administrative positions. In additions, they do not understand where funds are going and neglect the needs of students and teachers.
The goal of managing the budget must be to provide a quality education to the students of Wake County.
Do you have more questions about making sure our kids receive the quality education they deserve? Do you have ideas? Or issues that you want to see addressed?
I would love to hear from you!
